Tyson's 1st Birthday

I can't believe my baby boy is 1!! Time has gone way too fast!!
He's lightened up but is still super cute!!

Tyson had such a good 1st birthday!!! He got a bike trailer so he can go on bike rides with the family!!! He loves it!
Tyson loved opening his presents and really loved playing with the balloons. His favorite thing was a tag that came on one of the toys. He would throw all the other toys and crawl for the tags, it was funny!Grandma and Grandpa came up to celebrate Tyson's birthday. We always love when they come to visit us!
Tyson wasn't too sure what to do with the cake. He tried to grab the flame on the candle instead of blowing it out. He wasn't too sure about the frosting. He would touch it and then make a funny face. He wasn't up for getting too dirty!
I think he ended up liking the plate more than the cake! He is the best little boy! He is almost always happy and loves attention!

Summer Thus Far

Today Jace came running inside so excited to show us what he had taught Zack to do. When we got outside he helped Zack onto his bike, and Zack took off without his training wheels. He hasn't learned how to stop yet so he just slows down and falls over.

North Fork Camping Trip

Over the 4th of July weekend we decided to go on a last minute camping trip up on the Red Cloud Loop road. We found a nice spot close to the North Fork of the Ashley which is a small river up on the mountain by our home.
Jace and Zack worked really hard to keep the fire going, since that has to be their favorite part of camping.

At night it got pretty cold so we kept our tent heater on until it ran out of propane around 4:00 am. Tyson did not sleep very well that night so were awake most of the night.

For family night a couple of weeks ago we decided to go up to one of the local lakes to catch some rainbow trout. The first hour there was windy and the fishing was really slow. Finally Jace had a fish on and within a few seconds I had a fish on. Below is Jace and I fighting our fish at the same time.

As long as we kept food in Tyson's mouth he seemed to be happy, although I do not think he liked wearing his life jacket.

Fathers Day

For fathers day we went up to Salt Lake to spend some time with our family before we ditched our boys off for the whole week with my parents. At the Carters all of the grand kids got cowboy hats

At the Watkins family BBQ on Saturday night all of the cousins got together and put on a show for the adults. Below is them singing songs

Coach Pitch
Baseball

This year Jace played coach pitch baseball for the Dodgers . Jace is absolutely nuts about baseball and plays really well. Above is Jace up to bat and below he is on 3rd base.

Below is Jace playing 1st base which is his favorite place to play.

Jones Hole Fish Hatchery

Every year Jones Hole fish hatchery lets kids come and fish in the holding ponds to help get rid of the fish. Every kid that comes is able to keep two fish and the fish range from 10 inches to 22 inches. Jones Hole is also a 4 mile creek that empties into the green river. After fishing we hiked down the creek to see the Indian petroglyphs but did not quite make it since it was hot and the boys were worn out.
Below are the boys feeding the fish some pellets.

Fish that escape from the hatchery end up in these big ponds below. This is Zack landing his first fish.

Zack ended up catching the biggest fish and was even brave enough to pose for a pic.

Tyson 9 months

Tyson had his 9 month check up and is doing great! He is still the best baby we have had! He sleeps really good at night and takes 3 naps a day. He is the first kid that we have not had to lay down with him to get him to sleep. We just put him in his crib and he goes to sleep! So nice! He has gone from rolling everywhere to army crawling all over the house! He loves to eat and he LOVES his 2 big brothers. He just learned to play pat-a cake and absolutely loves it!
9 month stats
Weight: 19 lbs (10%)
Height: 27 inches ( 38%)

Easter

Tyson LOVED helping me fill the eggs with candy! He thought it was so cool to shake the eggs!
We started Easter weekend with an Easter egg hunt at one of our friends houses. The boys loved running around their big yard and finding the eggs.

After that, we came home and had our really good friends over to color eggs and go on another egg hunt. I don't think kids ever get tired of finding eggs! Next, my friend and I left the boys home and went shopping! It was a really fun weekend with good friends. I just wish we could have gone to Salt Lake to spend it with family. Hopefully next year Justin won't have to work!

The boys with their presents that Grandpa and Grandma Watkins mailed to them. They loved getting their own package in the mail and then eating the candy and playing with their toys!
Easter morning! As always a fun relaxing morning with lots of candy and hard boiled eggs!

Tyson was into everything! He even started army crawling REALLY good that morning. I guess candy was the big incentive to start crawling!

Jace's Wrestling Season

Jace just finished his 2nd wrestling season with Uintah's Tiger League. This year Jace turned out to be a good wrestler. He went undefeated in his dual meets, took 2nd place at Altamonts tournament and today he took first place at the Vernal Tiger League tournament.

Jace with his 2nd and 1st place medals.

Below is Jace wrestling his championship match and shooting a single leg take down on his opponent.

Zack and I coaching Jace. I absolutely love the sport of wrestling; however it makes me so uptight and nervous to watch Jace. After todays tournament I asked Jace if he would rather play basketball next year. He said, "maybe. Why?" I told him I don't think I can handle another season of wrestling.

This was Jace's last dual meet. The person he was suppose to wrestle did not show up, so one of the Dad's on the other team grabbed his son to wrestle Jace. When Jace saw how small the kid was he was to wrestle he looked up at us a gave a smirk. The poor kids dad was not happy when Jace pinned him right off the bat.

Altamont, Utah Tournament
Early in the season Jace and I drove to the small town of altamont to wrestle in their tournament. The Uintah basin (from Duchesne to Vernal) takes wrestling very serious. Jace wrestled some tough kids and ended up taking second. His second to last match was back and forth the whole time and within the last 20 seconds Jace ended up pinning his kid. He looked up at me after his match and we both gave each other the look of "man you got LUCKY"! That match got him into the championship round, and as I was explaining that if he won his next match then he would take first, he stopped me and said, "does that mean I will get a medal"? He was happy when I told him that no matter if he won or lost he would get a medal at this point.
The video below if his first kid he wrestled at the Altamont tourny. The matches got really tough after this kid and so my video and picture taking skill went downhill rapidly.

Tyson is now 6 months old and is probably the happiest baby we have had. He is always smiling and laughing. He can sit up by himself and roll over both ways. He also LOVES his jumper.
