Last weekend Tiff let me go on a little fishing adventure all by myself. I hiked into lower and middle rock lakes and later on hiked over to angel lake. At angel lake I dropped our camera into the lake and killed it. This is second time that I have killed a camera with water. This week we bought a new water proof camera, so I talked the family into a little day hike up to angel lake.
To get to this secret lake there is no trail, however you follow stacks of rocks called kerns and marks in the trees called blazes. I did mention this part to my family, but failed to mention about the rest of the hike...
...such as the big boulder field we had to cross. At this point there was a lot of whinning and even some cursing of Justins name.
We all caught a lot of grayling. Grayling are a type of fish that are fairly stupid. Throwing a fly to a gralying is like giving a dog a treat, they never turn you down. I knew this lake would be a great place for everone to catch fish. This is Tiffany posing with her fish.
And this is what happens when the fish flops off the fly!
This was Jace's first time catching grayling.

Zack had the easiest ride, but was the most tired by the end.

Justin brought his fishing pole, of course, and was able to catch a lot of fish. As you can see, they weren't very big. It was cool because you could drop anything in the water and the fish would swarm after it. So fishing was dangling the food in the middle of the swarm and seeing which fish was brave or stupid enough to take the bate. It was pretty entertaining!
I absolutely love this picture of Justin! I think he's so CUTE!
Chad, Justin and Tom on the tube. They had the craziest ride because they were weighed down so much. They had some pretty good crashes but luckily no one got hurt.

Notice where Justins hands are? That was his way of telling the driver it was an easy relaxing ride. I beg to differ.

Rainbow Bridge--I hadn't been there since I was like 10 years old. It was cool to go back except now you have to hike in a mile to get to it. Before you could almost drive your boat right up to it..jpg)
It was my favorite Lake Powell trip ever! It was very relaxing and a nice get away. I wanted to go on a trip after Justin graduated as our gift to us for making it thru school. The kids were the perfect age to leave them and Mary even offered to watch them for us twice a year for a week! Wow, what a women! Thanks Mary for watching them and giving us a nice break! The kids loved staying with you guys!
Zack and Jared both got to sit on Grandpas lap at the lake. They usually fight and push each other of but they didn't seem to mind it this time..jpg)

Justin took the kids out fishing in a raft attached to his float tube. Both Matt and Abby each caught a fish they were so excited!
Matt and his fish
Abby and her fish. Her fish ended up dying so they cooked it up for her. She wouldn't eat so Uncle Micah ate it for her.
Zack and Grandma down at the lake. He loves his grandma and is very spoiled by all the attention she gives him!
