Last weekend Tiff let me go on a little fishing adventure all by myself. I hiked into lower and middle rock lakes and later on hiked over to angel lake. At angel lake I dropped our camera into the lake and killed it. This is second time that I have killed a camera with water. This week we bought a new water proof camera, so I talked the family into a little day hike up to angel lake.
To get to this secret lake there is no trail, however you follow stacks of rocks called kerns and marks in the trees called blazes. I did mention this part to my family, but failed to mention about the rest of the hike...
...such as the big boulder field we had to cross. At this point there was a lot of whinning and even some cursing of Justins name.
We all caught a lot of grayling. Grayling are a type of fish that are fairly stupid. Throwing a fly to a gralying is like giving a dog a treat, they never turn you down. I knew this lake would be a great place for everone to catch fish. This is Tiffany posing with her fish.
And this is what happens when the fish flops off the fly!
This was Jace's first time catching grayling.

Zack had the easiest ride, but was the most tired by the end.

Looks like alot of fun!! Love the outdoors & that's great Tiffany & the boys go. I see alot of fishing excursions ahead for you all!! Good choice to get the waterproof camera LOL :) Glad you're having fun times out that way!! I'd love it!!
I love the picture of Tiffany when her fished dropped. Way to go Juse on catching that on film.
Yea, I told him not to post that one, the fish flipped of my line and was seriously flopping all over my legs and feet. It startled me more than anything.
Very cool pictures. I'm glad Justin has a water proof camera because you have to capture moments fishing. Looks like lots of fun.
Look at how adventurous the Vernal fam is. I love being in the mountains, the fresh air, besides the smelly fish and all are great. Good memories for you family.
Im just going to call you "Bear Watkins". You can call your show "Adventures of Vernal". But I remember one of our adventures and based on that adventure I would change your name to "Squatting Bear" or "Fighting Grizzly". HA HA!! LOL
Looks like Fun. We are heading up this week to the White Mt. to do some family adventures and check out some lakes. Will keep you posted.

Todd, your not supposed to mention about the squatting adventure. We will see if I ever take you to anymore secret fishing spots!
