Easter 2012

This past Easter we had the whole Carter family come out to Vernal to celebrate (except Garrett, we missed him).  Stacy even drove all the way down from Washington alone with her 2 boys to join the fun!  I am not going to lie it was a crazy weekend with that many people in our little house but it was also a ton of fun!  We colored Easter eggs, went on 2 egg hunts, had a campfire, went fishing and shooting and had lots of air soft wars and the girls went shopping.   We haven't had everyone together for Easter for several years so it was a lot of fun!

Jace's Baptism

Jace got baptized and confirmed by Justin on March 24, 2012.  It was a very special day and the spirit was really strong especially during the confirmation.  We are so proud of Jace and his decision to be baptized!  He is an amazing boy!!

Carter Family Camping Trip

We finally had our first Carter family camp except for Stacy's family who wasn't able to come. We stayed at the Lodgepole Campground by the Green River. We had a lot of fun, especially all the kids!

Tyson is now walking which made camping so much easier than when we went with Justin's family just 2 weeks earlier.
Zack and Kinnedi got along really well this trip. They tried to climb trees and bury themselves with dirt.

We went fishing at the moose ponds. The fish were not biting (it was too early) so we left and went to Red Canyon Lodge to fish and hang out.
We were so excited to have Grandma and Grandpa Carter come up for the last 2 days!

Red Canyon Lodge has these paddle boats that you can rent. So, we rented three of them and had fun paddling around, fishing and bumping into each other.

After the paddle boats the boys decided to catch crawdad's. It was really funny to watch them get all giddy when they had one on the line. All the guys would huddle around to make sure they brought them up.

The Green River
We were so lucky to be able to go down the Green River. I have been wanting to float the Green for 8 years and FINALLY got to go. Justin took his drift boat with the me, Candice, Zack and the babies in it and everybody else piled into 2 rafts. I had planned on Tyson being a stinker on the boat but he fell asleep in the bow after 10 minutes and stayed asleep the entire time! How lucky was I!

Tanner was the first one to get in the river, not sure if he fell or was pushed but he loved it! Next to go in was Chris, with a little help from Trent. Of course Chris got Trent back. Trent and Chris tried their hardest to get Todd in but they did not succeed!

What would camping be without Tyson and his sticks! This boy always had at least 1 stick in his hand or his mouth! Gotta love this little boy!

We have decided to make this a new tradition for our family and I look forward to next years camp!

Watkins Camping Trip

We went on our annual Watkins Family camping trip to the Boulder Mountains. The first day we went to Lower Bowns Reservoir where the boys tried to fish, no luck. So the kids and some of the men played in the water.

The girls of the camp. We were outnumbered 10 to 4. Zack doing his dance! He always can make us laugh!

Jace and Tyson chilling in the hammock. Jace is such a big help with Tyson!
Justin had planned to fish a couple of lakes that he had heard about. They were not sure if they had to hike or if they would be able to drive to it. Justin, Jace, Rob, and Cameron ended up driving all the way to the first 2 lakes on a really bad road. Justin and Cameron caught a lot of Tiger Trout in one of the lakes.

Cameron caught the biggest fish which was about 20 inches.
The boys did end up hiking to one lake which was suppose to only be about 1/2 mile away; however they got a little lost and ended up hiking a lot further than they should have.We went hiking at lower calf creek. Tyson loves to go on hikes with Justin! He giggles the whole time and is just so happy!

We went to cool of in the little stream while we were hiking. The boys all loved to walk and play in it, except Tyson! We tried to have him walk in it but he started screaming as soon as his little feet hit the water.
Our boys got so tired on the hike, we didn't even make it the whole way. Zack was done! So Justin being so smart, showed him a special trick. He gave them a sage branch and told them that cowboys smell this and it gives them lots of energy to do anything! The boys would smell it and then literally run for a while, get tired, smell it again, run etc. It was so funny!!! At the end I told them I would race them up the last hill. Jace and I took off. We got up the hill and turned to find Zack. He was down with Justin crying. He had lost his sage branch and couldn't run. So Jace gave him part of his and after one sniff Zack was up the hill! So funny what motivates kids!

Justin made a rope swing back at camp. The kids loved it!
All the little boys at camp. They all play so good together!

Before: Justin helped the boys make a rock house. The boys loved it and I am sure Justin did too! He is such a fun dad and totally a little boy at heart!

After: Jace and Matt decided they were going to live there for ever. Such sweet boys!

This was a waterfall that we hiked to. Jace was brave and ran through the ice cold water. Zack and Tyson wanted nothing to do with the water!

Zack was our little bear this trip. He climbed up this tree. Joye asked him what he was doing and he said he was a bear and growled!

It was a very fun trip! Can't wait to go again next year, especially since Tyson will be walking!
